Governmental Affairs
PANAC's Governmental Affairs Committee monitors and reviews federal and state laws and regulations that affect perianesthesia nursing and its practice. Please use this page to become informed about the legislative process and about ways that you can become more actively involved. Members are always needed to serve on this committee to provide a critical communication link between the state and grassroots levels.
If you are interested in helping to influence health care policy while advocating for patients and your profession, then gaining knowledge about the political system is key. Learning how to access information on nursing issues and how to present that information to elected officials is an asset. Legislators are elected to serve their constituents, therefore your professional perspectives and stories are invaluable in helping to shape realistic legislation.
